NCPS6000 Power System

NCPS6000 Power System

The NCPS6000 Power System is intended for operation as a battery reserve system and supports up to four battery strings. Battery management features such as slope thermal compensation, low-voltage disconnect, battery high temperature alarm and battery shorted cell detection are available.

Configuration
The NCPS6000 Power System is available in standard 19 and 23 inch widths. For a front access only system, the total depth is 12 inches (300mm). Rear access systems are deeper by 1.25 inches. Each mid-mount shelf can hold up to four rectifiers and distribution. Each rectifier has a dedicated AC input.

Rectifier
The QS862A is a nominal 25A (low line) / 30A (high line) output constant power rectifier, both using vertical forced air cooling and variable fan speeds. The constant power range is 48V to 58V. Refer to the NCPS6000 QS-Series Rectifiers data sheets for more information.

Controller
The QS841A is an enhanced integrated Ethernet controller. Features include battery management such as high and low temperature compensation, reserve time prediction, battery discharge test capabilities, rectifier restart, etc. Information can be obtained or parameters configured through a user interface consisting of 4x20 LCD graphics display with four lines of text and intuitive menu navigation system. A user can modify the controller’s factory default settings locally through the front panel or through remote means including local terminal, modem, or LAN. NEWMAR’s EasyView Windows GUI software supports both controllers and is available free from the web.

Distribution
Front access distribution is available in modules taking the space of one or two rectifier slots. These distribution modules can support load breakers, battery string landings, or GMT style fuses rated up to 20A. Modules can be equipped with optional low-voltage battery and load disconnects. There is also bulk output for use with external distribution. Rear access distribution is available as bulk output with battery termination capability.

Features
• Up to 150A redundant power with integrated distribution in a single shelf
• 19-inch and 23-inch shelves available
• Up to four shelves may be paralleled
• 2U height
• Temperature hardened from –40°C to +75°C
