Firmware Update - Local

Below are the instructions to update the firmware on the unit.
These instructions can also be found in the firmware zip file.

1. Connect the unit with a CROSS-OVER CABLE to the computer that will be used for the update.
2. Change your Network Interface Card's (NIC) settings to the following:
  IP address '192.168.123.100’
  Subnet Mask '255.255.255.0'
  Gateway '192.168.123.1'
3. If you have enabled the built-in Windows firewall or any third-party firewall, disable it before continuing.
4. Extract the zip file to an easy to find location (i.e. a folder on your desktop or at the root level of your hard disk)
5. Go to the SPM configure page, upload system firmware. Browse to the file and click “UPLOAD NEW FIRMWARE”
6. If everything works properly, the device should be available for use about two minutes after the update is complete.
7. Restore the NIC's previous settings once the firmware update is complete.

Firmware update – Remote

Follow steps 5-8, wait 5 minutes, and then re-connect.

Firmware Fixes and Enhancements

1. Merlin page is no longer needed to "zero" current reading.
2. "Zero" current channel is now available through the "Config" page
  a. Go to "Config" page (with correct access, password if set)
  b. Ensure no load is passing though shunt, remove any loads
  c. Press the "Zero Current Channel" button at top of page
  d. Return to Sensor page, verify current reading now read 0 amps and reconnect load to your system
3. Access levels passwords will now limit what pages are viewed and edited by each password level.
  a. Bug was fixed which allowed viewing of all pages to lower level logins
  b. Bug allowed low level access to edit items in the page, but not allow them to save changes, but would lock-up if they tried saving.
  c. "View Only" access will only allow viewing of the "Sensors", "Alarms", "Logging" and "Display" pages only with no saving.
  d. "Control" access will allow editing and saving changes made to "Alarms", "Logging" and "Display" pages no access to "Config" page
  e. "Administrator" access grant total access and editing and saving changes.

Note: when logging in with incorrect user name or passwords the browser will fail to display a page. Use the browser's back button to return to the last viewable page.
